ABOUT ME

By becoming an infant massage educator I am aligning my ethics with my passion, and my practice with my ethics. It is so important to show our children we are there for them. We can do this by nurturing them using safe touch, gentle words, making eye contact, using soft tones, and by asking them for permission before beginning a massage. I have learned it is never too late to start learning how to grow your bond with your children. Children can “tell” us what they need even as a newborn. It’s our role to understand their cues and respond appropriately to their needs. Infant massage is a way to do that.

How did I get introduced to infant massage? I had my first son in England 16 years ago. I enrolled in a baby massage course when he was 6 weeks old at the local community center. Since then I have used the same strokes I originally learned with my three other children (including twins). I chose to use infant massage as my way to bond with each of my children.

I know life is equally busy when you are a mother and working or you are managing your household & raising your children 24 hours a day. I have done both! At times you may feel depleted, guilty, out-numbered, stuck on the “sick carousel” or feel like you are not doing enough. The emotional and physical toll on parents can be lessened when someone just reminds them about the simple joy they can feel when bonding with their children. I came into teaching because I knew I wanted to make the intentional change to thrive and not just survive.

I moved with my family to Cherokee County in the summer of 2024. My local area did not have any infant massage trainings available for parents. This spurred me to follow my hidden passion and start Great Sky Babies! I received training from the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).

So what do I do besides teach infant massage? I work as an IT project and product manager. For almost three decades I have been helping companies around the world implement software solutions and enhancements. I have an undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University where I majored in finance. Before I was 25 I earned my MBA from the University of Miami specializing in e-commerce and marketing. I’ve also dabbled in teaching swimming to babies, children, and adults. I love to travel and try new things. I make it my priority to feed my spiritual health along with maintaining good physical health. I am vegetarian but cook healthy meat dishes for friends and family.

I feel so uplifted when I am helping others enjoy time with their infants.

They are our teachers. You are their experts of their needs.

I look forward to supporting you in this journey.

This baby-led class will be the best gift you will share with your child.
